Week 2: What kind of self-reflection experiences did you have in your freshman English class? What have you learned (related to self-reflection or writing in general) that has stayed with you and supported your writing?
My writing skills have been greatly influenced by my freshman English class in numerous aspects. First of all, it gave me new tools of writing techniques and tactics that I had never come across before. I gained knowledge about everything from sentence construction strategies to grammatical rules to help me write more confidently and effectively. I learned about a wide range of technical writing styles in this class, which broadened my perspective on the variety of possibilities in the writing world. In addition, the class introduced me to the idea of self-reflection, something I had not encountered throughout my time in high school. This increased ability to reflect on himself has been beneficial, not only in writing but also in other facets of my life, both personally and professionally. . My first English class was extremely important to my development as a writer. It provided me with abilities, and information, and I needed to confidently enhance my writing as a technical writer.
Week 3: Analyze the rhetorical situation of your Freshman Portfolio. For those few students who do not have one only: analyze the rhetorical situation of your Freshman English research paper/project.
The basis for creating my freshman portfolio was to provide my FIQWS professor and other possible readers with an accessible and user-friendly platform so they could interact with my coursework throughout the semester. But since this was my first time creating a portfolio, it lacked the polish and finesse that comes with practice. It lacked clear direction and felt uninformative, making me worry about how viewers in the future would find their way around. The introduction to my portfolio was one element that truly caught my attention. It didn’t do a good job of introducing my coursework or giving the reader any background information, thus it felt lackluster.I’m committed to refining my portfolio-building techniques going forward, with a particular emphasis on the introduction and interface of the portfolio.
Week 5: Analyze the rhetorical situation of your Product Review essay.
A product review essay’s objective is to inform and influence customer decision-making using rhetorical strategies.Providing customers with appropriate information facilitates their ability to make educated purchasing decisions. Providing readers with a technical review of the product, which is evaluated utilizing various criteria. My product review essay was based on the Spigen Cryo Armor Phone CaseProduct, and I failed to provide readers with a description of the product, background information, regarding the innovation on the product, and supplied an assessment of the product’s features, which did not meet the assignment’s requirements. Furthermore, for potential future iterations or implementations of this project, I will fully know how to effectively execute a product review essay, understanding the requirements such essay should meet.
